Education Committee

Duties: To work with Chamber Member businesses on issues affecting the business climate by addressing the educational needs of all members. Provide the business community with the opportunity to educate their employees. Enhance the quality of educational services available in the community.
Annual Projects: Leadership Ohio Valley (November to June), Youth Leadership Weirton (September to March), Dr. Barbara A. Matey High School Business Symposium (April), and Educational Seminars as needed.
Meetings: Committee members meet the second Monday of every month at the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce in the Conference Room at 3:00pm.
Finance Committee

Duties: To provide fiscal support and ensure sound financial conditions of Chamber resources. To develop a Board-approved annual operating budget, produce Monthly Financial Reports, and to work with the Executive Committee to develop a long-term strategy for maintaining adequate funding.
Government Affairs Committee
Duties: To monitor local, state, and federal government. To identify pertinent issues, lobby on the Chamber’s behalf, and work with elected officials to advocate the interests of the business community.
Annual Projects: Conduct “Meet the Candidate” Forums, organize Voter Registration Opportunities, Sponsor Legislative trips to Charleston, and publish and distribute a directory of elected officials.
Membership Committee

Duties: To effectively communicate and market services to the business community which will increase new membership and retain current members. Develop new member services to promote current members and visit potential member businesses.
Projects: Annual Membership Directory and/or Membership Drive, Prospective Member Packages, Information Sources – the weekly ‘Chamber Chat’ and The Town Crier, New Member Welcome, Leads To Success Breakfasts & Lunches, Business After Hours, Chamber Cash Mobs, Grand Openings/Ribbon Cuttings, Annual Kegler Night, Surf & Herf and the Welcome Center.
Meetings: Committee members meet the first Friday of every month as needed throughout the year at the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce in the Conference Room at 10:00am.
Special Projects Committee

Duties: To develop programs strengthening area pride and providing quality activities and events for Chamber Members, community residents, and visitors.
Annual Projects: Annual Membership Meeting & Banquet, Ladies Night Out, Community Christmas Lights Storage & Upkeep, the Weirton Christmas Parade & Fireworks, the Salvation Army “Angel Tree” Toy Drive, Christmas in July Golf Scramble & Sidewalk Sale, and Illuminate Weirton.
Meetings: Committee members meet the first Wednesday of every Month as needed throughout the year at the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce in the Conference Room at 10:00am
